The drum hero's classic 1966 hard-bop album. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, on 24th April/15th May 1964. The final Messengers album to feature classic trio Wayne Shorter (tenor saxophone), Reggie Workman (bass) and Cedar Walton (piano). The sextet is completed by the great Lee Morgan (trumpet) and Curtis Fuller (trombone). Featuring two superb Fuller originals (The Egyptian, Sortie), plus Shorter's 'Mr. Jin', Morgan's 'Calling Miss Khadija' and Walton's 'When Love Is New'. Produced by Blue Note co-founder Alfred Lion.
