Dexter Gordon's longtime friend Nils Edstrom booked Dexter on all sorts of engagements. A recurring feature was Dexter Gordon's concerts at the neighborhood pub Guldhatten in the central Stockholm. The atmosphere was always intimate and the musicians loved playing at Guldhatten, where the audience was always really close because the musicians stood among the diners' tables and played. 'Have No Fear, Dex is Hear' is the first of Dexter's five Golden Hat performances, and it took place on August 11, 1972.
