Re-released as part of the 'Blue Note Tone Poet' series, 'Breaking Point!' was originally recorded and released by trumpeter Freddie Hubbard in 1964. It features performances by Hubbard's recent collaborators Ronnie Mathews and Eddie Khan, but marked a departure in style from his work with Mathews and the Jazz Messengers.
