Machine Head' is the sixth studio album released by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in 1972. 'Machine Head' is Deep Purple's most commercially successful album, topping the charts in several countries, including number one in the UK. It features 'the mother of all guitar riffs' in 'Smoke on the Water', which was influenced by the Montreux casino fire during a Frank Zappa concert in 1971.
